Sound Balances
- five kinetic sound sculptures, 1995
Each of the sound balances has its own characteristic sound, its
specific form of movement and its own rhythm.
As a result of this one hears a calm gamelan-like metal sound. In the
open landscape this sound mixes with those of the environment. The best
location for the balances is next to a brook or canal into which the
spouts pour the water. 'This is where they write their irregular nodding
and knocking in the wind'.
