Nautilus- work for a threshold, 1986An installation in the Förtsch Galerie together with Josef Erben and Ulrich Eller. The floors of both gallery spaces had a difference of height of some centimeters. On the border, where the two levels met, danced a small ship like sculpture. It seemed to ride on the waves of the floor planks. The sculpture was driven by a little electric motor and made a lot of noise. That was because I made use of mechanical gears to get a calm and smooth movement. My first kinetic sculpture, not completey perfect. |
